Matty's Birthday Cake

On March 27Th I had the pleasure of making a birthday cake for the one and only Matt Siegel of Kiss 108fm's Matty in the Morning show. Billy Costa asked me to do this as a surprise and how could I resist! His cake was a three tiered black and white creation of chocolate orange espresso and white chocolate pistachio.

Kendra, the producer, was an absolute doll (pictured above). No, we couldn't take any pictures of the guys at work but that is my car parked next to the Kiss 108 van!!! Thanks to Billy and the rest of the crew we got a great plug on air!

The Wedding Salon

We are honored to be the only Boston based wedding cake designer featured at the upcoming bridal show, The Wedding Salon, an exclusive bridal show in New York City. We will be joining Colin Cowie, Sylvia Weinstock, and others at this premier event. The show will be held on March 23rd at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York. Feature Wedding in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style

One of our favorite wedding cakes was featured in a real wedding story in the current issue of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style. Elly Chou and David Newbower were absolutely one of the most adorable couples of 2008! She is gorgeous (turns out she's a model!) and their Rosecliff wedding was hip and romantic all at the same time. Her wedding cake was inspired by the exquisite bird cage topper. We used the same pastel green and blue tones on the cake and made little sugar flowers which mimicked the ones in the topper. Corinna Raznikov Photography provided these photos.

Cruise for the Cause

On March 5th we joined Janie Haas event consulting in a fundraiser to benefit Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, an organization dedicated to helping the forgotten elderly. Janie came up with the fun idea of having a cruise ship themed party. The party took place at Rumor nightclub in Boston. Janie transformed the room by adding blue and white fabrics and nautical items scattered throughout. Bacardi served tropical drinks, Max Ultimate Food catered, and we provided this display cake as well as red velvet, chocolate, and carrot cupcakes. The incomparable Billy Costa emceed a live auction which featured a chance to be on TV Diner. It was a great night, lots of fun, great music, great company.

Kleinfeld event at Bloomingdale's

Last night we had the pleasure of participating in an amazing event hosted by Bloomingdale's and Southern New England Wedding magazine. Kleinfeld Manhattan came and presented over 100 guests with a fashion show of exquisite wedding gowns. Tables of Contents provided the food which included heart shaped ravioli. Dana Markos Events decorated the men's department with cherry blossoms and also provided the "brides" with bouquets. Raffi provided the music, and Person and Killian were the official photographers for the event. Our wedding cake was served after the show next to our display cake which was inspired by wedding gowns. The proceeds benefited Brides Against Breast Cancer.
